Young whale, big surprise. A family’s first encounter with a curious juvenile humpback, filmed on an EcoSamana morning tour in the heart of Samaná Bay.
White fins in turquoise water. One of our favorite visitors — a humpback with bright white flippers, cruising slowly beside the boat while guests enjoy a calm, respectful viewing from deck.
Overview
Every year from January to March, thousands of humpback whales arrive in Samaná Bay to mate, give birth, and rest in its warm, protected waters. Our tour takes you into this sanctuary with certified local guides and a strong commitment to responsible whale watching.
We keep respectful distances, avoid sudden movements, and follow official regulations so the whales can be observed without stress — perfect for photographers, nature lovers, and families with children.
