Overview

El Limón is a 40-meter (130 ft) waterfall tucked away in the lush mountains of Samaná. To reach it, you’ll explore scenic trails that pass through tropical farms, dense jungle, and small rivers. The experience combines a gentle horseback ride with a short guided hike — a perfect adventure for families, couples, and nature lovers.

On the trail, your local guide will share stories about life in the countryside, traditional farming, and community culture. When you arrive at the waterfall, enjoy free time to swim in the emerald pool, relax on the rocks, or take stunning photos. This is one of Samaná’s most iconic natural wonders — and a must-do experience during your visit.

Itinerary (Typical)

1. Pickup & transfer from Samaná or Las Terrenas to a local ranch near El Limón.
2. Welcome briefing with your guide, including helmets and basic riding instructions.
3. Horseback ride through rural paths, river sections, and forest viewpoints.
4. Short guided hike down a natural trail and stone steps to the base of the waterfall.
5. Waterfall time to swim, explore, relax, and take photos while your guide watches your belongings.
6. Return journey back to the ranch (horseback + short hike).
7. Transfer back to your hotel or meeting point.
